Dawn.
Sono le 5 del mattino e fuori dalla mia finestra comincia a intravedersi il chiarore.
Un nuovo giorno. Strano come tutti i giorni in questo periodo.

Ho vissuto sola in un mondo plasmato nelle Ombre,
ho scacciato la Luce, ho scelto le Tenebre
ed il loro caldo Abbraccio.
Il lungo e solitario cammino nelle Ombre mi ha condotto
sino a qui, di nuovo. Ho visto luoghi di incubo
e di sogno, ho conosciuto fantasmi
e demoni e angeli caduti.

¤ Norge ¤
Norge har en rik folkekunsthistorie i form av brukskunst,
rosemaling og treutskjæring. 1800-tallet anses i ettertid
som en gullalder innen norsk bildende kunst. Preget av samtidens
rådende romantiske kunstideal oppnådde en rekke
norske kunstnere internasjonal berømmelse, som for
eksempel Adolph Tidemand, Hans Gude og J.C. Dahl. Denne
norske gullalderkunsten gjenspeilte norsk landskap, historie
og folkekultur. I ettertid er den mest internasjonalt kjente
norske bildende kunster den ekspresjonistiske
Edvard Munch. I moderne tid er Odd Nerdrum,
Håkon Gullvåg, Inger Sitter og Ørnulf
Opdahl blant de mest kjente norske malerne.
Gustav Vigeland er Norges mest
kjente skulptør og er mannen bak Vigelandsparken.
Fra etterkrigstiden er Arnold Haukeland og Nils Aas sentrale
navn.
Norge har en lang og sterk folkemusikktradisjon. På
1800-tallet ble denne musikken løftet frem av de
nasjonale musikkpionerene Ole Bull og Ludvig Mathias Lindeman
og gjort til en viktig del av den norske nasjonsbyggingen.
Norges internasjonalt kjente klassiske komponister Edvard
Grieg og Johan Svendsen var dypt inspirert av den norske
folkemusikken og brakte folketoner og norsk folkemusikkrytmikk
inn i sin kunstmusikk. Når det gjelder populærmusikk
har Norge mange artister som driver med pop, rock eller
elektronisk musikk. Blant de som har gjort mest suksess
internasjonalt er A-ha og Röyksopp. I tillegg har landet
kjente jazzartister som Bugge Wesseltoft og Jan Garbarek.
Norge er også kjent som hjemlandet
til Black Metal.
¤ Sverige ¤
Vasatidens konst bestod till stor
del av porträtt målade av hitresta utländska
konstnärer. Urban målare med sin Vädersoltavla
från 1535, i Storkyrkan i Stockholm, är en av
få svenska kända konstnärer under Vasatiden.
Stormaktstiden under 1600-talet och 1700-talets första
decennier var främst arkitekturens tid, med en rad
slott, herrgårdar och kyrkor, exempelvis Stockholms
slott, vilket även nu innebar att konstnärer kallades
från utlandet. Dessa lärde upp nya generationer
svenska konstnärer. I form av krigsbyten kom flera
betydande konstsamlingar och viktiga
enskilda konstverk till Sverige. Två stora svenska
namn var David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl, porträtt-
och allegorimålare, samt Erik Dahlbergh, fältherre,
arkitekt och konstnär. Stilmässigt omfattar epoken
renässansen och barocken.
Frihetstiden och den gustavianska tiden
innebar ett stort kulturellt uppsving. Stilen var rokoko,
senare efterträdd av nyklassicismen - i Sverige kallad
gustavianska stilen. Framstående namn var Johan Pasch,
Per Krafft d.ä., Alexander Roslin, Peter Adolf Hall
och, kanske framförallt, Johan Tobias Sergel.
¤ Finlandia ¤
Populaarimusiikkiin syntyi käsite suomirock, jonka
tunnetuimpia edustajia ovat muun muassa Juice Leskinen,
Dingo, Hurriganes ja Eppu Normaali. Suomalaiset rock-yhtyeet
ovat tavoitelleet ulkomaisen yleisön suosiota 1970-luvulta
lähtien, mutta esimerkiksi Wigwamin saamat myönteiset
arvostelut eivät johtaneet läpimurtoon. Ensimmäinen
ulkomailla lyhytaikaista menestystä saanut yhtye oli
Hanoi Rocks, joka oli 1980-luvun glam rockin edelläkävijöitä
maailmalla. 1990-luvun lopulta alkaen suomalainen populaarimusiikki
on saanut laajempaa menestystä ulkomailla. Konemusiikkiyhtyeistä
Bomfunk MC's teki yhden singlehitin Euroopassa ja Darude
kaksi. Rockyhtye The Rasmus sekä raskaan rockin yhtyeet
HIM, Nightwish,
Children of Bodom ja Stratovarius
ovat julkaisseet albumeita, jotka ovat menestyneet eri puolilla
maailmaa. HIM myi jopa kultaa USA:ssa. Kansanmusiikkiyhtye
Värttinä on sekin menestynyt ulkomailla maailmanmusiikkigenressä.
Suomen menestys Eurovision laulukilpailuissa on ollut pääosin
huonoa, mutta vuonna 2006 Lordi
voitti kisat kappaleellaan Hard Rock Hallelujah tehden uuden
piste-ennätyksen, 292 pistettä. Kisoissa Suomi
myös vahvisti julkisuuskuvaansa raskaan rockin maana.
